How often do you allow yourself to slow down, check in with your needs, and put yourself on the top of your list?

If you read that sentence and thought to yourself, “ME? When would I have time for that?” then we need to talk.

I get it. Once upon a time, I said the same thing.

But here’s the deal, those tasks “you have to do” will be there tomorrow, but your health won’t if you don’t take care of it.

I was an ambitious and adventurous girl from an early age. If you looked at my social media profile in my 20s and 30s, you might think I was super happy and successful in life. After all, I had traveled around the world, built two successful businesses, and thought I was well on my way to a life of happiness.

But the reality was very different.

Self-care was last on my list. I was stressed out 90% of the time. From 2008-2014, I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, a Hiatal Hernia, and Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE). Don’t ask. It’s not fun.

I was miserable, sick, and my lifestyle choices were destroying me.

My body was trying to tell me something, but by 2015 it was SCREAMING for help.

I received a list of prescriptions that I was to take for the rest of my life and sent on my way.

Yeah… no. That wasn’t going to work for me.

There had to be a better way.

So being my resilient bad-ass self, I set out on a journey of self-healing. I flew to Bali. Yeah, I know, just like Eat Pray Love, except I wasn’t leaving a husband. Instead, I left old behaviors, habits, and self-sabotaging stories behind and reconnected to what my body and mind truly needed.

I slowed down. I listened.

The things I was reaching for didn’t bring me happiness because underneath all the layers of ‘success,’ I didn’t feel good enough. My ego was never satisfied. I always wanted to do better, be better. I was in a hamster wheel hustling to reach perfection.

But perfection doesn’t exist.

So round and round I went, depressed, exhausted, anxious, and sick.

Can you relate?

It was time for a change!

From that trip forward, I self-cared my way into better health. I made small changes, one by one. It took me a couple of years to be medication-free and heal from the stress, but most importantly, I started to accept myself for who I was and where I was in life.

I started living my truth and honoring my needs daily.

And I want that for you!

But I don’t want it to take you years or a trip around the world as it did for me. It comes down to making a choice: show up for yourself and your health OR show up for everything else and burn out.

So, ask yourself:

“How do I want to show up in my life, and what needs to change to get there?”

Let’s start today.

I've made it my mission to help busy bees start saying “YES!” to what they need and “HELL NO!” to what doesn't serve them any longer.
